Yuma Sun to host two candidate forums

Residents will have the opportunity to have their questions answered about the Yuma County Board of Supervisors and sheriff candidates — before they vote.

The Yuma Sun is holding two candidate forums at Booth Machinery, 6565 E. 30th St. The events are open to the public and free of charge.

The first forum will be 6-8 p.m. Monday. Candidates from the Yuma County Board of Supervisors District 3, 4 and 5 races are scheduled to appear, including District 3's Russ Clark, Karl Koenig and Ginger Jane Hammack, District 4's Tony Reyes and David Lara, and District 5's Greg Ferguson, David Lerma and Gary Wright.

A second forum will be held 6-8 p.m. Oct. 9 for candidates in the Yuma County Board of Supervisors District 2 race, Russell McCloud and Dan Dawson, as well as the candidates for Yuma County sheriff, Leon Wilmot and Rick Sandoval.

Questions will be posed to the candidates by moderator Roxanne Molenar, Yuma Sun assignments editor. Audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions as well.

For more information about the candidate forum, call Molenar at 539-6862.
