Sex offender has new address in Yuma
A Level 2 sex offender has a new address in Yuma, according to the Yuma police.
Stephen Paul Babb, 26, is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He will now be residing at 1094 S. Brahma Ave.
Babb, who is not wanted by Yuma police, was convicted of one count of receipt of child pornography in July 2008. He pleaded guilty to the offense in a plea agreement in U.S. District Court, District of Arizona and was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison and lifetime probation.
A police investigation conducted at the time of his arrest revealed that he was in possession of more than 1,000 images of child pornography.
Babb is considered a level 2 sex offender with a medium risk to reoffend. Level 3 offenders are considered to have a high risk of reoffending. Level 1 is a low-risk to reoffend. YPD is releasing information about Babb's new address pursuant to the community notification law on sex offenders and distributing flyers in neighborhoods in the vicinity of his new address.
