Drug task force serves another warrant, makes arrest

A Yuma man was arrested shortly before midnight Tuesday after officers with the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on a room he was renting.

According to Capt. Eben Bratcher of the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, a search of the man's room at the Howard Johnson Hotel and his vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 3.8 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $380, scales and packaging material.

“He was selling drugs right out of the room,” Bratcher said.

This is the third high-profile arrest made by the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force this week, all based on complaints from concerned residents.

The suspect, Pasquale Mykal Menyhert, 31, was booked for possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition to the drugs and other paraphernalia, Bratcher said task force members discovered several items suspected to be stolen property. Those items, he said, consisted of financial and personal documents and credit card information that did not belong to the suspect.

YCSO investigators are following up on the stolen financial and personal for any possible fraud and identity theft cases.

“We immediately began an investigation because there are potentially people out there who could be being victimized and don't even know it,” Bratcher said.

Menyhert was scheduled to appear in Yuma Justice Court Wednesday afternoon.
