Supervisors should not build animal shelter
Is stupidity contagious? There seems to be an epidemic of it lately: Yuma County Supervisors talking about building an animal shelter.
How could they ignore the blunder that the city made in taking over animal control?
The Yuma City Council claimed that police could do the job for less than the $500K that the Humane Society wanted, but ended up paying $250K more than that out of our tax dollars.
Any council member who voted against that idiocy should have been awarded a medal. Those who voted in favor should never be re-elected. Tar and feathers would have been too good for them. Where were the anti-government Republicans? Government can never do a better job than a private organization. As Reagan used to say, “Government is the problem.”
Reagan would probably not recognize the obstructionists today who call themselves Republicans, and ignore the McCain campaign motto, “Country First.” Is stupidity now a requirement for election to the House of Representatives? In previous administrations the House has been able to work with a president from a different political party.
