‘First Take' offers good belly laugh
Newspapers offer many opportunities for laughter, and the Sept. 21 “First Take” column by Terry Ross provoked a hearty belly laugh. With an almost-straight face, he declared that the dominant news media are no longer “liberal” and that he doubts they ever were.
He needs to come up for air and refresh his memory.
How about the slavish adherence to the inane White House argument that the recent Mideast violence is a result of a video which was almost invisible? Or how about the fact that certain networks would not televise non-white speakers at the Republican National Convention?
Where would I need to go to actually hear the ridiculous vote at the Democrat National Convention which reinstated God and Jerusalem as part of the platform? Have we been told anywhere that the Democratic National Convention refused to accept welcoming packages from the evangelical churches in Charlotte but gladly welcomed a group of Muslims who showed up and offered to pray for the success of the convention?
Thanks for the good laugh.
