Shame on backers of racial profiling
I normally read the bigoted, biased, ignorant letters to the editor and say to myself, “ignore it and they will find some other biased subject to spread their grand knowledge on.”
But those defending racial profiling go a little too far.
Every race, creed, color, ethnic group, since the beginning of this nation has complained about racial profiling, beginning with the Native Americans. The immigrants – Dutch, Greeks, Irish, Italians, Polish, Japanese, Chinese, Latinos, etc. – have complained. And especially those that were brought here illegally, the Afro-Americans, have complained.
Our Arizona so-called “public officials” have surpassed even parts of the “South” in one-upmanship in discriminatory practices. If they cannot get us by “show your papers,” they are trying through their voter ID laws. Shame on these officials. And if these are the letter writers' reasons for defending racial profiling, then shame on them too.
So when you must spout this press stopping knowledge, please do a little studying before you open your mouth and insert foot.
