We must repent to save the country

There are three current and ongoing events in the last seven months that I believe are leading to the cultural, religious and political demise of America in the relatively near future.

They are as follows:

The Democrat Party attempted to remove the mention of God from its party platform. In the end and by a voice vote that in no way represented the required two-thirds majority vote that was required to reinstate the name of God, and purely for political purposes, God's name was reinstated.

However, following the lead of the Democrat convention, a majority of Americans across the nation apparently viewed President Obama as God and re-elected him by popular vote.

Finally, that self-righteous position that only his views are correct and will be implemented by his approved legislation or executive order, suggests that even President Obama believes he is God.

Is there any hope for America? Yes, but this current transformation of America to a culture of violence, anti-sanctity of life, sexual perversion, blatant dishonesty at all levels of labor and government, and a religious society where you cannot discern between the one who truly follows God, and the one who only says he does, MUST CHANGE.

Is there any history that demonstrates such a change can occur? Again the answer is yes. Around the year of 780 B.C., God called a man by the name of Jonah to go to a large town called Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, to warn them of God's impending judgment for their wicked ways (similar to the above paragraph). Jonah despised the Ninevites but he eventually went and told them God was going to destroy them unless they repented from their wicked ways. The king and the people repented and God spared the city.

Conclusion: It is very simple to say but admittedly difficult to do, because we all believe it is the other person who needs to change. From President Obama right on down to me, we must repent (defined as doing a 180 degree turn) from the culture that is currently transforming America and seek God's culture. If we don't change soon, America's demise is sure.
