Don't blame GOP for financial mess

The recent Associated Press article in the Yuma Sun defining Obama's and Republican proposals about deficit and budget plans remind me of how much our federal spending has increased.

Prior to 2008 the annual budget submitted for presidential signature was less than half what is currently advocated by Obama. This provides the basic explanation of why our deficit has increased by almost $6 trillion during his administration.

Another reason is not one budget has passed by the Senate during two years when both houses and the presidency were under Democratic control and two years with the House under Republican control.

Yet Democrats and the liberal press accuse the Republican controlled House of being responsible for the economic mess we are confronted with. It is times like this I think we are living in an Alice in Wonderland environment rather than reality.
