LED bulbs are much better than CFL
I have tried both CFL and LED bulbs as a replacement for standard tungsten light bulbs. I do not like and will not use CFL bulbs for two reasons: First, the ones I have tried have enough flicker that my wife and I get headaches from their use the same as we do from other fluorescent lighting. Although it is everywhere, I don't need it in my home. Also, I am an amateur radio operator and have found CFL bulbs operated near my radio equipment causes objectional noise in the receivers. I have tried the LED bulbs as well. Presently, I have four of these in operation in the house. They have no flicker, produce almost no heat, and appear to cause no radio interference. While expensive, they can be expected to last for 10 or more years. And if you drop one, you are not going to end us with mercury contamination! In my thinking, the LED bulbs are clearly a better choice than the CFL.
