Local tea party not making calls
It was recently brought to my attention people have received phone calls asking for donations for “The Tea Party.” As chair of the Colorado River Tea Party in Yuma, I want to make it clear our organization does not participate in this type of activity.
The Colorado River Tea Party is a grassroots effort working toward educating the public about the national debt, runaway taxes and the constitutional foundation of our nation. We are able to do this through the generosity and hard work of our members and the voluntary donations collected from the public during our education forums.
Any money given to a tea party over the phone may be going to a national organization and, therefore, will never be seen or used locally. However, that doesn't mean it won't go for a worthy cause.
The Colorado River Tea Party is one of the largest tea parties in the Southwest and we owe that to the support of the people of Yuma County. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at coloradoriverteaparty.org.
