Health care only OK for little people
This is in response to James Sefcak's letter published recently in which he stated that President Obama was not lying when he said that illegal aliens will not be covered if one of the health care reform bills becomes law.
Well ... yes and no. The bills do state that illegal aliens will not be covered. However, conservatives have proposed several times that photo ID and documentation be required for a person to sign up for health coverage. Each time, liberals have voted the proposals down. Why do you suppose that is?
In effect, President Obama is lying and telling the truth simultaneously. This is called talking out of both sides of your mouth, or, if you prefer, being duplicitous.
Many used car salesmen and lawyers (of whom President Obama is one) are duplicitous. Perhaps the American people should wonder why.
This next item I believe should be published very widely. Both houses of Congress have exempted themselves from the health reform proposals. I guess the new proposals are good enough for the little people but not for VIPs like the members of Congress. They get the good stuff and everyone else gets what's left.
I don't think anything involving health care should be passed until the little people know what this means. I mean in detail, not some duplicitous pseudo explanation.
