Where was God on the day of the massacre?

“Where was God that day?” Following the Newtown, Conn., massacre, some bloggers have tried to provide an answer.

I cringe when someone says it was God's will or God called the children to heaven. A loving God would not be behind such suffering.

Then I came upon a blogger whose explanation made sense. Kathy Schultz (kathyschultz.com) wrote: “On Dec. 14 Adam Lanza exercised his free will. He defied the laws of God and man. As a result, others lost their right to life and happiness. God did not make him do it. But because mankind in general has said, ‘Don't tell me what to do,' God did not interfere either. The good news is that this is only temporary. The day is coming soon when God will intervene in man's affairs and bring in a new arrangement.” (Isaiah 65:17, Psalm 37:29, Revelation 21:3, 4)

Normally I try not to be too “preachy,” but it's a risk I'm willing to take this time.
