Cooler weather nothing to sneeze at

Look out, Yuma … we're about to get a little dose of Arizona winter here.

The high temperature is expected to drop from 86 degrees today to a much-cooler 68 degrees on Saturday.

The temperature change doesn't bother me so much. In fact, I'm excited for the opportunity to wear Yuma's version of cooler weather clothing.

No, what bothers me more is what will likely drive down the temperatures: wind.

I enjoy a good windstorm. I like the way it sounds when it whistles around the house. But I hate what it means for my allergies.

Knowing the upcoming weather changes is sort of like looking into a crystal ball — the forecast includes a sinus headache.

At the same time, I'm happy that camping season is here, that we can take bike rides in the afternoon and spend a few hours at the playground.

If a headache is the price I'll pay, I'm ready for it. I'll just have the Advil on standby.
