Movie technology to be demonstrated
On Nov. 3 at 10 a.m., Harkins Yuma Palms 14 will be hosting a free demonstration of the assistive devices for the hearing and visually impaired community.
This is new technology now available in Yuma.
They will have the easy-to-use closed captioning devices, audio description headsets and assisted listening devices available at no additional cost to the moviegoer for any film and for any show time, as long as the movie has been provided with captions or descriptions by the distributing studio. Moviegoers can obtain the devices at the theater's guest services counter.
Seating for the demonstration screenings is free, but space is limited. Those interested in attending a screening are asked to RSVP at www.HarkinsTheatres.com/Accessibility. RSVPs can also be made via phone by contacting an event coordinator at (480) 627-7777. RSVPs must be made two days prior to the demonstration date.
The movie will be “Finding Nemo.”
I'm hoping that Yuma will get the word out and we can fill the theater. We are very lucky to have Harkins here and their support of for all of Yuma's residents.
This is a very expensive undertaking. I have used all the technology and it simply is wonderful.
Thanks again, Harkins!
