Support received while dog missing
A number of weeks ago, my beloved dog Gracie went missing. I had moved to Sacramento with Gracie about seven months before and when the time came for a Thanksgiving family vacation I had to find somewhere safe to leave her. My options were to leave her in Sacramento at a kennel or fly her to Yuma, where she could stay with the sitter she knew and trusted. I went with the obvious choice and flew Gracie to Yuma.
When she went missing during our stay here, we immediately continued the sitter's efforts and placed ads, posted hundreds of fliers and canvassed neighborhoods. After several days, I had to return to work, which meant heading home to Sacramento without Gracie.
As heartbreaking as it was to leave without her, I knew that my family would continue to search and do everything possible. My family continued to look and so did hundreds of other people, many of them strangers. Every day I received emails, calls and texts from people offering their help and support.
This outpouring of support truly kept me going during those difficult days until she was eventually found. I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people that helped to bring Gracie home. I will always be proud to call Yuma home.
