Drones will likely save many U.S. lives

At last the president and I can agree on something. His new edict on killing Americans who are fighting with terrorists. I fully agree using drones to take out the leadership of terrorist groups in the Middle East and North Africa will without a doubt save a lot of American lives. We can't afford to keep standing armies tied up in those countries.

Killing Americans who support terrorists and enemy soldiers can lead to a slippery slope. During the Vietnam War, if we had had those drones, people like Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden would've been targets. Even some news reporters like Peter Arnett, who lied about what was going on in South Vietnam and was finally fired, would've been targeted. So like I say, slippery slope.

After 10 years of war in the Middle East and North Africa, we have finally figured out that standing armies can't successfully chase down bands of terrorists. Our military has been working on this plan of taking out the leadership of terrorist groups with drones for about three years. Terrorists do their recruiting in mosques. There is no doubt that listening devices have been placed in mosques throughout the Middle East. Once the terrorist recruiter starts recruiting, he is kept track of to the point where he starts using a training camp and then the drone takes out the leadership.
