Tax time needs to be easier
It’s tax time again for most Americans. I find it strange that our government that lives on taxes would make it so difficult to file taxes. One of the strangest parts of taxpaying is why do you pay less taxes when you have more children? It would seem to me that if you are going to use more government services that you should be made to pay more taxes, but instead it’s just the opposite. Why should a person who decides to have no children pay for your children to go to school?
There’s not much about Russia that I admire but their 13 percent flat tax is a good thing. Unfortunately, they have no rule of law yet, so you may have 1 million today but be broke tomorrow, and in jail put there by some Russian bureaucrat. You can bet the farm that if we adopted that 13 percent flat tax, the IRS and their legions of auditors would be demonstrating around the capital the next morning. That 13 percent flat tax is spreading across Europe like a virus, even China is considering it. Eastern Europe is on the verge of shifting to this low flat tax rate, and within two years it’s going to approach the United States. Like a tsunami. Sure, I complain about taxes and who pays them, but I never forget we live better than 99 percent of the people on Earth, but I wonder for how long.
