Information on fatality is sought

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

This letter is in regard to the fatal accident that took the life of Roderick Kelly. We believe that someone out there has information. The hit and run happened early last Sunday morning. The vehicle could have belonged to someone coming to Winterhaven to frequent one of these late-night establishments there.

I encourage anyone if you have information to please come forward by contacting the Imperial County Sheriff's Office. Help give his family the answers and justice he deserves.

We want justice and answers on the unexpected loss of our brother. He is greatly missed already.

The family is upset and wants those people using his passing as a means to gain publicity for their cause to stop. He is not affiliated with the radical group frequently mentioned in papers. The Sun was never contacted by his family. This group of people took it upon themselves to contact The Sun without ever getting permission from his family.

His only connection and association is with his niece, Yolanda Escalanti, who is affiliated with the group. Allow the true family time to grieve.

Roderick is a father, brother, grandfather and uncle first, not someone's cause.

MARILYN DEWEY, Yuma
