This event was established by the local Arizona State University alumni to encourage higher education and motivate students to begin their professional career in Yuma County. The entire community pulls together to raise funds for scholarships. Close to 25,000 attendees took part in the festival and over 75,000 tamales were sold, making this year's festival a success.
