Crop duster flew low over homes
Recently, my family and I ran out of our home at Parkway Place on 27th Lane, near 28th Street and Avenue C. There was a plane that sounded like it was just above our roof flying fast. We heard it once, then again just as low coming back.
We ran outside and looked up and down the street and saw neighbors coming outside watching the "could be disastrous accident" of a low flying crop duster flying back and forth just barely above our rooftops.
I mean to say, it was flying back and forth for about 6 minutes dusting the crops adjacent to our subdivision to the east, only as high as the street lights on 28th St. I was worried about what kind of chemical we and our neighbors were given to breath. Was it toxic, a carcinogen? Who knows.
I would believe there are some elevation rules for aircraft to fly over such densely populated residential areas. I also would believe that the chemicals would have some affect being mixed with the air we breath. It should have been applied via a tractor with spray bars and a tank as other fields are.
My son took a video of the plane flying just over our rooftops, it really was scary thinking what could happen. After we were sure that it was a crop duster, we hurried back into the house so we couldn't breath the nasty stuff in the air it was spraying.
