Frightened by intolerant proposal

I am frightened - and I am saddened.

Once in a while I read in the book on my night stand. It tells of a man who preached tolerance and love towards your neighbor. He is known as Jesus Christ.

A movement is underway today to add a religious perspective to the highest law in Arizona, the Constitution. I have reference to the proposal to allow marriages only between one man and one woman being pushed forward by the religious right.

Hate and intolerance have spawned this proposal.

Will we become another Iran where religion is the law of the land? Soon you will be asked to legalize this first step. Will you?

And so I am frightened for Arizona's future.

Love and tolerance were at the base of Christ's teachings.

And so I am saddened to see how far today's Christianity has moved away from Christ by endorsing intolerance and hate instead.
