Address immigration with housing code

Janet Napolitano resigns as Arizona governor to head the Department of Homeland Security.

Jan Brewer is elevated to governor and then is elected governor by signing her name to SB 1070.

Now the U.S. Supreme Court has decided that police can ask about citizenship of those stopped or detained, but the unstated purpose of SB 1070 remains to remove illegal aliens.

The simple, litigation-proof approach is to enact a minimum housing code and occupancy permit application system in the cities of Yuma, Somerton and San Luis, the town of Wellton, and Yuma County.

By enacting this code, there would be no slumlords or “drop houses,” and property values would be maximized.

Given that the elected officials of Yuma County (full-time) and the city of Yuma (part-time) have this information and have taken no action, one must ask why they are cashing their monthly checks? It is past time for accountability at all levels of government.
