Work together to stop shootings

I would like to add something to the gun control debate.

Why are all the right wing people saying that the government wants to take away their guns? No one has suggested that. No one is suggesting taking away hand guns or hunting rifles.

Also, Hitler did not take away any guns, look it up. His people loved him; he appeared in public, even in open cars. He even lifted some of the restrictions on guns that they had. People, especially Fox News, should check their facts before airing them.

Ask yourself who benefits from mass shootings? The NRA does. Their only purpose is to promote sales of guns and ammunition. The more fear they can stir up, the more guns they can sell. They propose arming teachers, when school districts can't even afford pencils.

Check the statistics, how many armed law-abiding citizens have ever actually stopped an armed mad man? Can any of these law-abiding citizens, like the mother of the Sandy Hook shooter, absolutely guarantee that their guns will not fall into the wrong hands? Even law-abiding, taxpaying citizens have been known to explode in rage and do something crazy.

What we really need to do is try to work together. Of course, we cannot stop all shootings or all crime, but we can at least try.
