Bad headline on gun safety article

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

I was surprised to learn that the Yuma Trap and Skeet club had received funds from the National Rifle Association to teach our youths to "play" with guns, as a headline in The Sun April 29 indicated.

This must be a first. As long as I can remember the NRA has never encouraged kids to think of firearms as playthings. This is a prime reason that The Sun should pick a headline writer for something like this with care.

I'm sure that John Gross, Gary Knight and Mark Webster were shocked to find their names in this article under that headline. Please, no more of this kind of writing. It would have been better if this had not been printed at all.
