Water outage shows reason for denial

On July 6, Far West Water and Sewer Inc. filed for a sewer rate increase. The increase requested would raise the sewer rate from $21.75 to $62.65 per month, which equates to a yearly increase of $490.80 per lot.

For more information go to the Arizona Corporation Commission website. The docket number is WS-03478A-12-0307. The Arizona Corporation Commission is the agency which approves or disapproves utility rate increase requests.

Recent events resulting in no water delivery to Far West customers proves management did not have an adequate backup plan and is just one more reason for denial of the sewer rate increase.
