Give health tax benefit to worker

Tell Congress no to any current bill to have the federal government further interfere in the health system.

The only change needed now is to change the tax code so health insurance is a tax deduction to the employee rather than the employer.

In the current approach to health insurance, created by Congress, health insurance is a deduction to an employer, which does not show as a taxed benefit to the employee. However, the employee - the insured - cannot deduct the insurance costs if the employee elects to get their own coverage.

This prompts insurance companies to tailor their policy packages to the desires of the boss, making something that looks good but at a low cost.

If the tax code was changed to make health insurance a deduction to the employee, insurance companies would then have the incentive to tailor policies to the people seeking the coverage.

You would not be bound by the choices of your employer. You would not lose coverage when you changed jobs.

Imagine the mess if you could only get car insurance through your employer, and you had to take the policy the boss selected. That's where Congress has jammed us with regard to health insurance.
