Many issues at play in annexation

Before anyone in the Foothills gets excited about annexing to the City of Yuma, take in all considerations other than hooking up to the sewer – what are the tax rate, garbage fire etc.? What are their city laws compared to the county laws?

If the city of Yuma would let us incorporate into our own town, it would be good for us out here due to our population in the wintertime. Look at the problems the city council and the mayor are having, and in the past years the residents of Yuma were not happy with their actions.

It's a wonder that Far West is still in business with their poor management that includes their other businesses like the strip mall on Foothills Boulevard, Hanks Market, the hardware store, the mini mart where we have not had gas for over six months and they seem to be on C.O.D now with their deliveries ... is this raise just for the sewer, or is it to keep the rest of the company out of the red?

The fire and rescue committee must take in all considerations of all facts of this issue of the pros and the cons for annexation, because there are a lot of us who like living in the county and not the city. Let's not be frightened into annexation just for the sewer problem which could be a mistake down the road. There are other considerations to make. There are a lot of poor people who live out here too and on limited income.
