Appreciate justice provided in Yuma
The tragic death by murder of our brother, Dr. Satinder Gill, has hung like a cloud over us for five long years as we awaited answers and justice.
We participated as much as possible in the 39-day bench trial presided over by Judge John Nelson. We are grateful for his attention to details, balanced approach and objectivity.
Not being from Yuma, we have grown to appreciate and respect the professional ability of the Office of the County Attorney. Prosecutors William Katz and James Coil along with Detective Tejeda studied and presented an organized and effective case against the defendant. Their relentless pursuit of evidence and truth was gratifying and reassuring to us.
Maria Toczek, the victim advocate officer, provided excellent information and support to the family. Truly she has gone above and beyond our expectations and been more than a court officer — she has been a friend.
Detective Sergeant R. Rodriguez and the Yuma Police Department demonstrated strong leadership and determination throughout this long ordeal. We feel the Yuma community is fortunate to have such fine governmental leaders working on their behalf.
