A furry distraction amid negative campaign season
Thank goodness Halifax, Canada, is no longer a real city. That's because the “regional municipality's” most popular candidate for mayor likes to eat mice.
It must sting for his competition to know that “Tuxedo Stan” is whooping their tails at the polls.
Sure, his name won't actually be on the ballot, but that hasn't stopped this civic-minded kitty from bringing attention to the issue of stray cats - and making headlines. A recent CBC News poll showed that 55 percent of respondents would pick the puddy tat.
I'm personally grateful for this furry distraction from our own country's political headlines, which grow in negativity as we march toward Election Day.
And to people who might say that the above is “pathetic political reporting,” please remember this is only a mini blog - and a consistently frothy one at that. I'm rarely serious. So be nice, or I'll tell Tuxedo Stan. Kitty has claws.
