Iraq could be like stability in Korea

In regard to your March 20 editorial "Iraq dilemma can't continue indefinitely," remember Korea?

The North and South governments have never signed a peace treaty, which means they have been actively at war for nearly 60 years, with a U.S. Army force right in the middle of it.

If a similar arrangement in Iraq could keep the Middle East as stable as the Far East has been, who can say that the price is too high?

I have a radical suggestion for the editor: Talk to some people who really know about war. An Arizona Republic March 21 editorial mentioned "an organization of Iraq War veterans known as Vets For Freedom - claiming 44 chapters nationwide and some 20,000 members - has launched a national tour, speaking out on what they believe is a near-universal principle among Iraq war vets: Finish the job."

A report from that group might help balance The Sun editor's grim prediction of the "exhaustion of U.S. forces and America's patience."
