    Low-life thieves stole leprechaun

    Comments 0 | Recommend 0

I have just a few words for the low-life thieves that stole our beloved concrete leprechaun during the evening of Nov. 3. His name was Simon and he sat on our driveway gate post for 15 years, serving as a landmark and guide for people looking for our home. It took at least two people to lift him as he weighed between 300 and 400 pounds.

Even if you repainted him, he is easy to identify as he is the only one in the West. He has great sentimental value as a dear departed relative brought him all the way from North Carolina as a gift to us.

He is about 4 feet tall in a sitting position only. He has a white beard, a gray flowing pointed cap, bright red jacket, blue trousers and red boots.

Due to him being one-of-a-kind, he was invaluable to us and not replaceable.

If there is any truth in Irish folklore, anyone who kidnaps or steals a leprechaun will have nothing but misfortune and bad luck the rest of their lives. If anyone should happen to see him, or know who has him, please call the sheriff's department.
