Yuma police need breathable uniforms

I would like to put in a request to the Yuma Police Department. I had a very nice police officer help me the other day and I noticed his uniform.

The uniform looked nice, but the material is the kind that doesn't let the body breathe. We do live in Yuma and it is hot and humid. Material like that should be unacceptable for our people serving in the hot sun.

I am positive that people wearing a uniform from that material will eventually get sick from keeping all that heat in from their uniform. On top of the uniform, our officers have to wear all the protective gear, which I feel is important.

Our officers need breathable material, something that can let the air in and cool our officers off, not the material they are wearing now. There is material like that in the market and our officers would still look professional.

I feel our officers work hard for our community and should be well taken care of. They need breathable material for their uniforms so they don't end up with a heatstroke or heat exhaustion while working in the sun.

Do not use the excuse about the economy because our people do buy and change their clothing either way.
