Misinformation on Obama's 'amnesty'
There are a few bits of misinformation in the letter written to the editor by Jules Ohrin-Greipp on Aug. 30 about the children of illegal immigrants.
First of all, wasn't “Timmy” a great name for an illegal immigrant child? And his parents didn't just “slip” across the border — they came here illegally. Wait, they might have “slipped” under the fence.
“Timmy” can register for college because for some reason we don't deny illegals higher education. Illegals also get scholarships, in-state tuition and they drive with or without insurance or driver's licenses.
One more little problem: These “children” don't have to provide any proof that they meet the qualifications for Obama's amnesty. Nice, huh?
The problem isn't “Timmy” so much as his parents, aunts and uncles. You see we, being a nice country, will not leave “Timmy” to fend for himself so his extended illegal family gets to stay here also.
Our president in all his wisdom bypassed Congress (they said no to amnesty ) and unilaterally and illegally ordered amnesty for “Timmy” and his ilk. (OK, it supposedly wasn't amnesty ... but it is.) Oh, and this beaut: 400,000 repatriated? Hold on there. Seems this is a tad inflated as we now know Obama and his minions have inflated those numbers by a bunch!
Obama's folks have purposely included apprehensions with deportation stats to make it look like he has upped deportations. He hasn't! In fact deportations have actually gone down during Obama's watch — from 385,000 to 330,000 in 2011. And 2012 is shaping up to be a lot lower.
You can also bet Obama's number of “children” who qualify for his “amnesty” will end up being much larger. After all, these are not illegals but future Democrat voters!
The solution to this problem is number one, we must lock down the border. Number two is no services to illegals — period. Number three is we must have a national photo ID. And number four is Obama and future presidents must guarantee to us citizens that anyone given “amnesty” now or later will never be allowed to vote. Watch the Democrats go after illegals then!
