Lizard, fish, lichen also named for Obama

President Obama surprised some people when he declared during the election campaign that he rather liked that the nickname for national health care had become Obamacare.

A term his opponents had used in a derogatory manner had suddenly become an accolade. I suppose history will decide which it actually ends up being.

It isn't unusual for president's names to be repurposed. Sometimes they have schools or streets named for them, for example.

But how many have had their names tied to an ancient extinct lizard? Well, Obama now has.

A Yale paleontologist named a recently discovered foot-long, toothy lizard from 65 million years ago Obamadon gracilis in his honor. By the way, he also has had a type of fish and lichen named after him, according to news reports.

Of course, if his critics decide to start referring to him as Obamadon, he may not like it as much as Obamacare.
