Why no Democrat challenging Obama?

You may have noticed there are several Republicans who believe that they would make a good president in the coming election year.

But, to my amazement, I have not seen one Democrat who thinks he would be a better president then the one currently in office.

I realize that there is a reason for that, but it is beyond my understanding.
