Here's how to solve problems
I'm a returning snowbird from Idaho and I am entering my fifth year as a sign-waver for a local business. While doing this, I get to do some thinking and dwelling on what I read in the newspaper and the people complaining about one another.
So many of our problems can be corrected by following the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments.
We all know what the Ten Commandments are (if not, look in your Bible in Exodus) and the Golden Rule is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Wouldn't that be something if we all could apply these rules to our lives? I'm not being religious here, folks, it just seems to me they are just common sense, don't you think?
So, next time your dog is howling, wow, do you think that is affecting someone else, or talking loud or letting your kids run around like some kids all maxed out on sugar and caffeine — gee, is this affecting someone else?
If you text and drive, please quit. I don't want to be a statistic.
If you happen to pass me while I'm holding my sign, please smile and wave or honk. Smiling makes people look better and feel better and makes other people feel better as well. God bless you all and thanks for having me in your city.
