Pope sets good example for aging officials
Our retired Pope Benedict is a very humble man. He realized his health and age were hindering his all-important task of serving the world as our pope. He is humble enough to step down and give his authority to another. Why cannot our elderly elected officials in Washington D.C., wise up and follow in his footsteps? Have you ever watched our elderly in session? There are many sleeping. I would doubt if some could tell you what bills they voted on yesterday.
I think if there was a vote on having term limits, it would pass unanimously. I think that the age limit to run for a public office should be 70 years, and then only allowed one term. Look at all the fighting among the Democrats and Republicans. There are just too many old cranky and stubborn people trying to run our government. These people are drawing big money, with health care, retirement, etc.
I am sure if we have term limits, and get our younger people involved in politics, the whole country would be better.
Think about this.
