Thanks to those who make Post 19 programs possible

During the course of the past several months, there have been some special programs at the American Legion Post 19. My sincere apologies to all for this late thank you.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, the post provided 30 full dinner baskets (complete with turkeys) to the families at Marine Corps Air Station-Yuma for both Marine and Navy personnel. There were also 20 full baskets provided to military families at Yuma Proving Ground for Army families, along with seven baskets to local post veterans.

During the Christmas holiday, we also provided 30 full dinner baskets (complete with hams) to the families at MCAS for both Marine and Navy personnel, along with five baskets to local post veterans.

My most sincere thank you to The Yuma Community Food Bank for their generous donations, Crossroads Mission for their donations and assistance, and to Bengard Ranch Inc. for their donation of fresh produce.

Next, the personnel at MCAS Community Services, David Koopmann and Brooke Burgess, the personnel at YPG Family Support director Mardy Clarke for their assistance in coordinating this great effort.

Lastly, to the volunteers of Post 19 for their untiring efforts in keeping everything together. Norman Miller, Armando and Judi Quijano, Judy Labounty, James LaMarche, Melinda Gettins, Bob Carey, Bill Peterson, Bobby Lohr, Marvin and Joyce Koivisto, Gary Rochester, and Frank and Karen Misano.
