Comic strip is offensive

In support of, and referencing, two letters to the editor published on Aug. 27, I confess that Philip Taylor was correct that I have been a “passive and spineless Christian” by “letting this government's activists desecrate the precious name of Jesus Christ.” It is time we speak up.
A few years ago, “La Cucaracha” ran a strip at Christmas time, showing the baby Jesus as a frozen turkey wrapped in a blanket. I quit reading this strip at that time, but didn't speak out in disgust. I'm now speaking out and stand with Wayne Wagner in his call to stop publishing this offensive strip.
