Sun ignored report on war propaganda

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

I find the absence of any local coverage concerning the New York Times report that detailed the orchestrated propaganda by the Bush administration in managing information about the war in Iraq appalling.

This report detailed criminal activity to vet military analysts into the major U.S. media outlets, all who had extensive ties to private contractors competing for hundreds of billions of dollars in wartime contracts, in order to deliver the Bush doctrine to the American people.

President Clinton faced impeachment proceedings for lying about an affair with an intern. Yet President Bush gets a free ride for breaking a law against using propaganda to marshal support for war by placing ex-military officers, all of whom had vested interests with military contractors as either lobbyists, board members, senior executives or consultants, into major media outlets to generate favorable news coverage of the administration's wartime performance?

The Sun, by ignoring this report, is also culpable for continuance of this massive perpetuation of fraud on the American public.

Supporting the troops does not mean supporting liars responsible for duping the American public, leading to the death and maiming of tens of thousands of U.S. service members and the draining of our treasury.
