You're a true Yuman when ...
You know you're a Yuman when: You reach for a sweater when it's 65 degrees outside. You can correctly pronounce names like Urtuzuastegui and Quechan. You rally for the cause when someone, anyone or any organization, needs help.
You know the seasons as river season and dune season, or lettuce season and cotton season, not spring, summer, fall and winter. You expect tri-tip at every outdoor event. You walk outside to watch it rain.
You know the history of Kammann sausage, the Yuma Criminals, the Territorial Prison and the wheelhouse. You don't flinch when you see six Harriers or Ospreys flying low overhead. You recognize Yuma as a special community, not a pit stop on the way to San Diego.
There could be hundreds more. You've got your own list of qualifications, so go to Yuma Sun's Facebook page (Facebook.com/YumaSunNews) and tell us what they are. Help us make a big list of what it takes to be a real Yuman!
