Salary story is outrageous

Wow! Look at this in the Yuma Sun on Dec. 5. The Arizona State Board of Regents has approved a four-year contract extension for the Arizona state athletic director.
The position will earn a guaranteed salary of $341,000 that can increase each year up to seven percent. It can also receive performance bonuses of up to 50 percent and a retention bonus of $200,000 for staying the full four years.
Mathematics is a lonely game, but throw this in your calculator and it starts to smoke.
For we who live in a state "that's going broke," this sings of outrageousness. I put hand to brow, has wisdom lost its way?
