People stopped to help with fire
Comments 0 | Recommend 0On June 23, while driving my VW Beetle, I had just crossed 32nd Street on the 4th Avenue Extension going south when I heard a strange noise. Looked in the rear view mirror, I saw flames coming out of the back of my car.
I pulled to the side of the road, grabbed my purse and keys and was going to call 911 but I did not have my cell phone with me.
I would like to thank the a number of people who stopped and helped me (needless to say I did not think to get names).
Thank you to the young lady who stopped her school bus and let me use her cell phone, the two Border Patrol agents who stopped and tried to help put out the fire and the two or three police officers who were on the scene.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to Fire Captain Kevin Honaker and his crew for their help and thoughtfulness. You are a credit to your profession and Yuma should be thankful for such kind, understanding men.
