Christmas card guilt
This year, due to a complete lack of time, I decided to put a few things on my “stop” list, with the hope that it would free up time for things I enjoy more or need more.
For the holidays, I decided that I wanted to spend more time with my family, bake more treats for friends, make a special gift for my daughter and not stress as much about the details. What did I give up? Sending Christmas cards.
And now, I'm filled with guilt about it. Each card that comes in from family and friends, I feel a little twinge of remorse, as if I've failed to hold up our end of a long-standing tradition … especially when I see the notes from my great-aunts requesting pictures of my daughter.
So this week, a little belatedly, I'm thinking about sending them out anyway. Maybe it's time for a new tradition — Happy New Year cards!
