Don't say goodbye to Twinkies yet

I have to admit Twinkies were a favorite dessert treat in my school lunches when I was a kid.

Apparently a lot of other people have liked that snack food over the years, too, given it has been around a long time, since the 1930s.

But I have been surprised about the reaction to it possibly disappearing. Apparently, there is some hoarding going on as people rush out to buy up stocks of Twinkies in stories.

That's an overreaction. I doubt they will actually disappear.

Hostess Brand Inc. is in bankruptcy and plans to sell off its assets — and you can bet the Twinkies brand and its recipe are among its biggest. There will undoubtedly be bidders to keep making them.

There may be a temporary shortage during the transition, but surely people can wait a little while to get their Twinkies.

Or can they?
