No catch when veterans honored

I would like to publicly thank our local Applebee's restaurants for honoring all of the veterans who has served our country, past and present, on Veterans Day.

My husband is a Vietnam War veteran. When he returned from his 4 years, there was no celebration or thank yous from the public, since this was an unpopular war with little public support at home.

Applebee's honored him and hundreds of other men and women on Nov. 11 by giving them a free dinner. There must be a catch we thought. But no, there wasn't - just a wonderful steak dinner and great service.

When we left, the manager was standing at the door, passing out $5.00 off coupons for our next visit. We definitely will return.
