Nothing wrong with Vista High
Recommend 0Recently, a gentleman called KTTI and chastised them for helping a group raise money for books and supplies for Vista High School because all the kids who go to Vista are gang members, thugs and such.
Well, my daughter goes to Vista because she is behind on credits and she can earn them faster. As a matter of fact, she has been getting A's and B's - better grades - at this school than she has had at Yuma or Kofa or Cibola. She has attended all three, because we moved.
My daughter is not a thug or a gang member. My son graduated from Vista last year, and he is getting ready to go to college to take criminal justice because he wants to be a U.S. Marshall.
The gentleman who made the remark against Vista obviously has his facts wrong. He's just another person looking at someone and the way they dress and making a judgment about those kids. I didn't realize that Jesus died on the cross, and gave him power to judge others. One day we all will walk that line and face our own judgment day.
Vista High School has a fantastic principal, Mrs. Kelly, and a wonderful staff and the students are remarkable. I hope others don't look at these remarks by this gentleman and make a judgment on him and the way he looks. Or maybe they might. But the medicine might not be that easy to swallow if he was the one taking it. It's just that old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover."
