Thanks to library volunteers
We at the Yuma County Library District wish to extend our deepest appreciation for the many wonderful and talented volunteers who donate their time and energy to the libraries. We celebrated our Volunteer Appreciation Event, for the adults, on March 4 and the teens will be celebrated in April.
For the year of 2011, Yuma County Library District had 299 volunteers who contributed 16,867 hours. That is an average of 1,406 hours a month. For the year of 2012, Yuma County Library District had 354 volunteers who contributed at total of 17,861.25. That is an average of 1,488 hours a month.
Our top volunteers were:
• Wellton Library: Janet Hall with 776 hours, Sandra Luna with 420 hours, and Sherilyn Shill with 193 ½ hours
• Foothills Volunteers: Ernst Kinzel with 365¾ hours, Cheri Dempsey with 365 ½ hours, Sylvia Lewis with 358 ½ hours, and Lynd McManamen with 347 ¼ hours
• Main Volunteers: Kelsey Chapel with 291 hours, Jackie Bain with 270 hours, and Patricia Andrews 243 ½ hours.
We continue to increase in numbers of volunteers and hours contributed. We look forward to the future and we are thankful to have such wonderful people in our community who have such giving hearts.
