Andy Griffith should be required viewing
Call me old-fashioned, behind the times, old school, a fuddy-duddy or whatever, but the bottom line is if we required everyone in America to watch one season's worth of “The Andy Griffith Show” reruns, we'd be much better off as a country and society.
Too much?
I don't think so. I realize not everyone would get the same message, but I'm willing to bet that many would, and the messages that come across in nearly every black-and-white episode are the same: honesty, integrity, character, kindness, faith and strong family values are the most important things in life.
To this day if I'm scanning the television guide for something to watch, and there's an Andy Griffith show listed, I'll watch it, no matter if I've already seen it once or a half-dozen times before, because it sure beats the garbage that is today's programming, where sex, cursing and just about anything else goes.
Sure going to miss you, Sheriff Taylor.
