Stuffed like sardines, here's hoping time flies
We are in the midst of a Herculean task at the newspaper right now — moving.
It might not seem like a big deal to most, but the newsroom hasn't moved in 30+ years, and we've accumulated a lot of stuff. It's taken several weeks of sorting and organizing, and we've filled countless trash cans, but I'd say overall, the newsroom is pretty packed up.
And today, 10 reporters moved into a conference room in the downstairs of the building.
The quarters are snug, to say the least. Gone are our cubicles, which made for a pleasant sound barrier. Instead, the reporters are all sitting in a large rectangle, with tables instead of desks.
Over the next few weeks, we'll have to keep our eyes on the ultimate prize — bigger workstations, more space and a better overall setup.
Hopefully, these next few weeks will fly by.
